The Luxury Pool LED Screen Buying Guide

Published January 20, 2026

Everything to consider before installing a poolside LED wall.

A poolside LED screen is one of the highest-impact upgrades you can make to a backyard — but it's also one where a wrong spec is expensive and very visible.

Brightness

Minimum 5,000 nits. We default to 6,000–8,000 nits for full afternoon sun readability. A consumer TV peaks around 1,500 nits and is unwatchable outdoors.

IP rating

Front face IP65 (rain, splash, hose-down). Rear enclosure IP65–IP68. Anything less and the screen will fail within 2–3 seasons.

Pixel pitch

For a 165" screen viewed from 12+ feet, P2.5 looks pristine. For closer viewing, P1.8. P1.5 is the sweet spot for most luxury pool installs.

Size

Most pool installs land between 165" and 320" diagonal. Because LED is modular, any aspect ratio is possible.

Lifecycle cost

Quality GOB/COB panels run 100,000 hours to half-brightness — 30 years at typical use. Modules are field-replaceable from the front in under 2 minutes.
